Czech automaker Škoda releases the first official renderings of the interior for its new SUV for the Indian market.

The midsize Kushaq, officially launching later this month, is the first of four models to be released by Volkswagen Group brands as part of VW’s marketing campaign for the world’s second-most populous nation.

The vehicles are manufactured locally and are based on the MQB-A0-IN version of the group’s Modular Transverse Toolkit adapted for India by Škoda.

The interior images reveal a free-standing infotainment display with a screen measuring up to 10 ins. (25 cm). The design sketch shows a character line running beneath it, intended to echo the symmetrical contours of the Škoda front grille.

The Kushaq’s technical development is being carried out at Škoda’s technology center in Pune with 95% of parts for the new vehicles planned to be produced locally.
