CHICAGO – The refreshed Toyota Avalon with both styling and performance upgrades, as well as added tech features, bows today at the Chicago Auto Show prior to the ʼ16 sedan’s sales launch this fall.

The V-6 models will offer XLE, XLE Plus, XLE Premium, Limited and Touring editions. Hybrid buyers will have three grades from which to choose, XLE Plus, XLE Premium and Limited.

Depending on grade level, suspensions have been retuned for smoother luxury ride or sportier handling performance.

New features on all Avalon models include a wider and lower front grille with narrow upper grille design, newly designed turn signals that replace the fog lights, refined LED taillights and chrome rear bumper accents.

Added new standard features on the XLE and XLE Plus grades include redesigned 17-in. alloy wheels, 7-in. Entune Audio Plus screen, premium wood-grain dash ornamentation and tire-specific Tire Pressure Monitoring System.

Technology upgrades are added to the Avalon XLE Premium grade with Entune Premium audio with Navigation and App Suite and Qi Wireless Charging as standard equipment. The performance-tuned Avalon Touring grade adds standard 18-in. dark-gray painted alloy wheels, a new front fascia and LED headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights.

The top-of-the-line Avalon Limited gets new 18-in. alloy chrome wheels on V-6 models and new 17-in. alloy chrome wheels with the hybrid powertrain. The Limited adds optional advanced safety features including automatic high beam headlights, radar cruise control, pre-collision alert and lane-departure alert.

Toyota also says it will produce a Camry Special Edition model limited to about 12,000 units between August and January. It will build a Corolla Special Edition model limited to 8,000 units between August and December.
