Chengdu International Trade Fair attracts almost 19,000 buyers.

The sixth Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) concludes with a number of records.

The three-day show at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center in the heart of southwest China’s automotive industry saw a 7% increase in exhibition space to 516,670 sq.-ft. (48,000 sq.-m); a 5% growth in exhibitors to 612; and a 5% rise in professional buyers to 18,916.

CAPAS 2019 refined its product zones and presented seven themes, including parts and components; commercial vehicles; accessories and customizing; repair, supply chain and chain stores, e-mobility and infrastructure; Made in Sichuan; and tires.

The e-mobility and infrastructure zone showcased 26 local and international new-energy-vehicle brands, including BYD, Geely, JAC, Porsche, Roewe, Tesla and Volkswagen. Start-ups such as Aiways, Qiantu and WM Motor displayed their latest developments and car models.

CAPAS worked with local organizations to gather 15 developing cities in the Made in Sichuan zone. The exhibit successfully amplified the industry’s recent growth in the region. Companies showed off their car-manufacturing strengths and resources.

Seminars covered the latest updates and discussed the challenges and opportunities in the market. Experts discussed the future of the industry, business models for profitability, store operations and service optimization in the supply chain and chain stores.

The next show is scheduled for May 21-23, 2020.
