Kia releases renderings of the fourth-generation Sportage compact CUV ahead of the new model’s world debut next month at the Frankfurt auto show.
The new dynamic design was developed at Kia’s European design center in Frankfurt, with assist from the Namyang Vehicle Development Center in Korea.
The much-awaited new Sportage is a strong departure from the third-generation vehicle, first designed by Peter Schreyer and released as an ’11 model in 2010.
Kia sources say a new drivetrain option will be available when the ’16 Sportage goes on sale early in 2016, but will not comment on the type of propulsion. Existing drivetrain combinations are expected to be offered as well.
