Well, we can't state with absolute certainty that Johnson Controls, Lear and Magna have never put their products into orbit. But we do know that Recaro, the German specialty seat maker pushing heavily for more North American business, plays a bit role in the space thriller summer movie, "Armageddon," starring Bruce Willis. The company's name is emblazoned on the four-seat moon rovers that Willis and crew drive across a run-away asteroid they want to blow up before it collides with Earth. The vehicles are, of course, equipped with Recaro SPG-Racer seats, which the company assures can withstand an exploding asteroid. This isn't the first on-screen appearance for Recaro, whose seats have supported the backsides of notables such as James Bond and Star Trek captains.
