Porsche AG plans to unveil the new '07 911 GT3 special performance car at the upcoming Geneva auto show.

Powered by a 415-hp version of the company's 3.6L 6-cyl. boxer engine, the car can accelerate from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 193 mph (310 km/h), Porsche says.

Specific output for the new engine is 115.3 hp/L, among the highest of any normally aspirated production engine.

Harnessing all that power is a revised 6-speed manual transmission, new mechanical limited slip differential and an electronic traction control system adopted from the Carrera GT sports car.

Porsche's Active Suspension Management is standard on the GT3 for the first time and is calibrated to offer “normal” and “sport” driving modes, the auto maker says.

Other highlights include 19-in. wheels, a short-throw shifter and an array of shift lights integrated into the tachometer that progressively light up as the engine reaches its 8,400-rpm redline.

European availability begins in May, with North American models going on sale in August. Prices will start at $106,000.
