Canada’s Big-Truck Sales Continue Winning Streak in October

Class 4-8 deliveries soared 38.5% to 3,679 units from 2,763 year-ago, according to WardsAuto data.

Canadian big-truck sales extended their winning streak in October, as year-over-year sales in the medium- and heavy-duty sectors increased for a 20th straight month.

Class 4-8 deliveries jumped 38.5% to 3,679 units from 2,763 year-ago, according to WardsAuto data.

Class 8 sales rose 37% on a daily basis to 2,530 units from 1,920 in like-2010, led by volume-leader PACCAR’s 64% surge.

Volvo sales grew 55.3% to 457 units from 306 year-ago. International deliveries climbed 47.5% to 580 from 409.

Medium-duty sales increased 41.8% to 1,149 from 843, led by a 54.7% gain in Class 7 deliveries.

The class belonged to International, which saw sales spike 67.9% to 155 units from 96 year-ago.

Class 6 sales increased 32% to 245 units from 193 year-ago. International was the big gainer once again, with deliveries jumping 28.4% to 195 units from 158.

Class 5 sales increased 53.4% to 441 units from 299 in like-2010, led by a 96.3% gain at Ford.

Class 4 deliveries grew a marginal 2.2% to 115 units from 117, getting a boost from the extra selling day in October.
