Local Chinese Brands Front and Center at Macau Show

Executive Summary

The show, set for Nov. 7-9, has attracted more than 60 major automobile brands from 15 countries and regions.

The 4th China International Automobile Exposition is seeking to position itself as the platform for vehicles designed and manufactured in China by the country’s homegrown automakers to tap into global markets.

This year’s show in China’s special administrative region of Macau, 40 miles (64 km) west of Hong Kong and bordered by Guangdong province, is set for Nov. 7-9 and has attracted more than 60 major automobile brands from 15 countries and regions.

The show, covering 667,362 sq.-ft. (62,000 sq.-m) is expected to attract more than 165,000 visitors, making it the largest, highest-profile and most-visited professional exhibition in Macau to date.

Exhibitors include Chinese proprietary automobile brands such as Dongfeng, GAC, Beiqi, Changan, SAIC, JAC, China North Industries, Great Wall, Zhengzhou Yutong Bus and Shenzhen Wuzhoulong.

The state-owned Enterprise Electric Vehicle Industry Alliance of China, together with the country’s eight leading state-owned new-energy-vehicle makers, including FAW and Potevio, also will participate.

Luxury and imported brands exhibiting at the show include Bugatti, Pagani, Lamborghini, Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, Jaguar, Volkswagen, Audi, Volvo, Lexus, BMW, Nissan, Noble, Mitsuoka, Lorinser and Tesla.

The schedule for the show at the Cotai Expo in The Venetian Macau includes 20 high-end summits and events.

The event is being organized by China National Automotive Industry International and the Nam Kwong International Exhibition & Convention Center.
