For the second week in a row, Chevrolet takes first place in iSpot.tv’s rankings of the automotive ads that have racked up the highest number of impressions across national broadcast and cable TV airings.

Holding the lead in the week of Sept. 4-10, the Chevy spot shows various models being put to the test. Drivers zoom around a track, haul a heavy load and steer up a sharp incline, all to an upbeat song from The Hives.

Volkswagen takes second place with a spot featuring a giant floating gorilla that follows a new ’18 Tiguan around New York City, while third place goes to goes to Mitsubishi’s 100th Anniversary Sales Event, which moves up the chart from No.5 last time.

Pro basketball player Stephen Curry makes an appearance at No.4 in a spot for the Infiniti Q50. While navigating a scenic, winding road, Curry explains he’s in a constant chase with himself, driven to become the best version of himself he can be.

Chevy takes fifth place with its second spot in the top five, this time with a commercial new to the rankings. Groups of friends discover how tough it is to choose who among them is most dependable; good thing it’s an easier choice when it comes to a Chevy. The company, the ad points out, is the only brand to earn J.D. Power dependability awards for its cars, trucks and SUVs two years in a row.

Incidentally, as summer winds down automotive marketers suddenly are putting out a lot of fresh creative – from Ford’s lively spot for the F-150 to Jaguar’s dramatic ad for the XE – so we expect a lot of movement in the rankings in the weeks ahead.
